The Caius is the entry-level reel for anglers new to baitcasting. Offering fantastic Shimano value, it is a compact, durable, versatile reel that will handle the majority of common sized lures in the 10-60g range making perfect for all predators from small perch to large pike. Whilst the Caius isn’t an expensive reel, that doesn’t mean it isn’t a great performer. If you are new to baitcasting, or want a cost effective second reel, you’ll be delighted with the Caius. With attractive black and red colours, this eye-catching reel is easy to use and is ideal for all round baitcasting situations using lures in the 10g to 60g range.  The body of the Caius is built from Shimano’s XT-7 composite, which is tough enough to overcome accidental knocks and bumps, and the spool is crafted from the same high quality aluminium used on much more expensive models. For inexperienced casters the VBS breaking system has an upgraded 6 pin design to help prevent over-runs and mishaps. Owning a Shimano reel is something to be proud of and many of the world’s best fishermen have started their journey with a reel like the Shimano Caius.
