Exo Terra canned foods are a convenient way to feed insects. These insects (and snails) are cooked in a box to preserve the nutritional value, taste and aroma. It also softens the insect exoskeleton for easier digestion and breaks down the protein bonds in the cartilage to make it more digestible for reptiles. Cartilage is an important fiber that promotes the creation of bone, cartilage, skin and claw structures. Canned insects have the same nutritional value as live insects, but they are easier to digest. There is no need to feed live bugs in addition to the canned food provided.
