The handle is incredibly comfortable in the hand and is spread at the base to form a guard as a safety feature. The flat head to the handle allows the hori-hori to be ‘hammered’ into the ground with the palm of the hand.
The quality stainless steel blade has large serrations to give more “bite” than smaller toothed versions and has very clear depth markings to aid planting. The serrations are also along the entire length of the blade which is a definite advantage when cutting roots.
This is a tool destined to be indispensable in the garden!
